Archimedes (287 - 212 BC) - the greatest physicist and mathematician of ancient Greece, one of the greatest scientists of antiquity.

He was born and died in Syracuse and received his education in Alexandria.

Infinity is a mathematical problem that has not been solved to date. Archimedes was intrigued by this as he was by the paradoxes caused by the inclusion of this concept in logical reasoning. One of his successes was to estimate the value of Pi = 3.14 ... and so on to the next decimal places.
