CHALLENGE: remove completely the lid from the Hip Flask Puzzle..

Felix describes the puzzle as “A fiendishly challenging, multi-stage, sequential discovery puzzle.”

This is the second puzzle designed by Felix Ure. The first being Titan which has proved to be very difficult to solve by many puzzlers despite it’s the very straightforward and uncomplicated goal. Like the Titan, the Hip-Flask also has an uncomplicated goal; remove the lid of the flask. It is machined from unfinished solid brass. The puzzle is quite heavy and feels solid and substantial in your hand.

A multi-tep sequential puzzle, this is perhaps not as difficult as Titan, but most people will still find it rather difficult to solve.

Crafted in the UK in small limited editions, the Hip Flask is made of solid, unpolished brass. It slowly patinate and darken with use. Very substantial and pleasant in handling. It is quite weighty (735 grams) for its size, which is about 7,2 cm tall.

Difficulty: EXTREME 4/6. Average solution time: 30 min. - 30 days.

Felix Ure is an innovative product designer, with a large amount of experience designing for manufacture at both small and large scales. Worked at every stage from design conception through to final manufacture, using a vast array of different materials and manufacturing techniques.

Packaging: The Hip Flask is inside a thick red velvet bag inside a plain black cardboard box. The packaging is all ethically and sustainably sourced, and all boxes are made from recycled cardboard.

A solution not included but Felix does say on his website that you can email him if you require a hint.

The manufacturer recommends not to use excessive force, do not shake the object too much, because this could damage the sophisticated internal mechanism.
